Backup Or How to Archive Your Data

It is a very important point for you. As a rule, we understand two things when we say the word "backup":

There are a lot of disks which are installed in a server. They are switched on through the raid controller. All your data is archived and saved on a separate disk (a separate server) once a day.

If your provider has the raid, it is great. This means that all your data is stored not on one hard disk, but, at least, on two disks. And in case if one of the disks has died, it will not be a problem. The provider will simply change a defective disk and the operation will proceed. Ideally, you even will not notice it, and will not know about it since raid-files mean "hot" change of disks.

If your hosting-provider has not only raid, but also does copies of your site, it is perfect. In case if you have unintentionally deleted the site or a certain well-wisher got to know your password (as a rule, a hosting provider is unable to help you, it is much easier to steal the password of a user) and deleted the site, you can ask your hosting company to restore your data from backup. But keep in mind the following thing. If you notice that your site is not present in a month or two, the provider will not help you. As a rule, archives are stored only for the last week.

In any case, you should always have a copy of your site. Anything can happen.
